The first Clarke Tinwhistle was invented by Robert Clarke in 1843 in the small village of Coney Weston near Bury St. Edmunds, England. Clarke set up his factory in a shed and soon became a successful manufacturer, creating the first of the tinwhistles we know today. To celebrate Robert Clarke's 200th birthday, a special edition silver tin whistle was created that sounds as great as it looks.

Clarke's Original Tinwhistle is still made in much the same way as Clarke's first whistle, made in 1843. It has a tapered metal bore that brings the finger holes closer together and increases the range and accuracy of the whistle in the upper registers. When compared to a plastic top whistle, the sound is hard to describe, but most people would say it is more musical, softer and has a bit more character.

Available in C or D tuning in a gift pack with accompanying fingering chart.
